Dr Jill Domoney
Research Clinical Psychologist
Dr Jill Domoney is a Research Clinical Psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London and a yoga teacher with the Yoga Kind Collective.
She specialises in women’s mental health, including perinatal and infant psychology, and the links between mental health and experiences of violence. Her research to date has included developing interventions for antenatal depression, evaluating interventions for pregnant couples where there is domestic violence, and exploring the ways that sexual assault referral centres respond to mental health needs. She also holds an honorary clinical position at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust.
As a yoga teacher, Jill is interested in the way that yoga can impact on our thoughts and emotions as well as our bodies, creating self-awareness and a space to open and heal. She brings a therapeutic aspect to her classes through gentle inquiry into people’s experience on the mat and encouraging acceptance and present moment awareness.
In her spare time, Jill loves being outdoors and you can often find her running on coastal trails, paddle boarding down a river, or attempting to climb a rock face.
