Rosie Watt

Local Dance Producer and Creative, Rosie Watt, will be offering an introductory dance taster session. This session will bring together an engaging and thoughtful combination of contemporary dance exercises & expressive movement tasks.

Dance is a brilliant art form to express ourselves and unleash our creative potential.

The Foundation for Art and Healing state that “Creative arts expression may be especially effective in treating individuals facing illnesses like PTSD, cancer, diabetes, as well as caregivers, the highly stressed, adolescents, the elderly...(and those experiencing) higher incidence of loneliness.” Furthermore, they express “that a growing number of medical practitioners prescribe creative expression to help individuals with conditions like these deal with a range of negative feelings, including loneliness.”

About Rosie

Rosie began her journey into dance in Blackpool performing at The Winter Gardens and The Grand Theatre in shows with comedians such as Bradley Walsh and Cannon and Ball, and Drag Queen, Betty Legs Diamond. This led to a first degree in Contemporary Dance and an MA in Arts, Business and Creative Entrepreneurship.

Through 8 years’ experience with The Empty Space and Spin Arts, Rosie has produced, managed and fundraised for a diverse range of dance artists and creative organisations, creating productions, projects and experiences that empower and inspire communities through creativity. Artists and companies include Surface Area Dance Theatre, Coalesce Dance Theatre, Yuvel Soria Dance, JoAnne Haines, Sandrine Monin, Kasia Witek, Bobak Walker, Mind The Gap, Dance City, Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Productions can be found in theatres, libraries, galleries, community centres, and outdoor festivals, and are often a by-product of long-term investment and support into artists' creative and career development.

Rosie has fundraised and managed approximately £350K+ over 2020-22 on behalf of the artists and companies she collaborates with from Arts Council England, Cultural Recovery Funding and further commissions.

Further to this, Rosie has counselling, fundraising and creative community engagement experience with Samaritans, Lancashire Women and Empowerment Charity Lancashire, and a Level 7 Postgrad Certificate in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills.

Run With Gulls is led by Lancashire woman, Rosie Watt, who runs with the gulls (not wolves!)

Run With Gulls shares wild wisdom to empower artists and creative organisations, whilst supporting the community. Whether you run, roll or fly you’re welcome.
